		<description>I am sorry that I have neglected this post..and I thank you for your continued interest! Please note my recent thinking as to how the eye manages to detect single quantum events (photons). I propose that the only explanation is that the retinal image is acquired in very fast - probably femtosecond - time. Signal obscuring noise is a time related function. I believe therefore that traditional imaging considerations ("frames per second") cannot apply. I may be wrong but.....?

Have you made an estimate of how many pixels our eyes process at their 10 to 20 per second frame rate?(my low estimate is based on 30x30 field of regard at about 0.1 degree resolution in both dimensions).

Also how many bits each for:intensity; color; etc?
